Assistant Professor of Economics · Berea College

I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Berea College. I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Houston in 2023.
My research focuses on household consumption, mortgage-market institutions, and banking. I use household- and institution-level data to study how financial institutions and constraints relate to economic behavior.
I teach macroeconomics, money and banking, development economics, and applied econometrics. With two colleagues, I developed and secured institutional approval for Berea’s new B.S. in Quantitative Economics. My Time Series Econometrics and Panel Data Methods courses form part of its advanced methods sequence.
My current working paper examines mortgage recourse and household consumption smoothing. The manuscript is under revision.
I also lead a student-engaged research project on physical function, well-being, and academic progress. Supported by Berea’s Undergraduate Research and Creative Projects Program, the study brings together survey and laboratory measures from 105 students.
